10 Pushup Variations for Upper-Body MASS

If you’ve ever heard someone say that high repetition pushups only increase endurance and don’t build mass, they would be dead wrong. We’ve seen killer chests on people who primarily use pushups for their chest training. This includes calisthenics athletes, prisoners who have no access to weights, and military personal, to name a few.

Pushups are a low-cost alternative to the bench press. All you need is the ground and other optional items to make it more challenging, while the bench press requires a bench, barbell, and weights. Without resistance, pushups are free, and adding resistance can be done with bands, weight plates, or a weighted vest.
