The Principle of Specificity states that adaptations are specific to the stimuli provided
The Principle of Overload is that in order for a tissue (bone, tendon, ligament, etc.) to adapt to a demand, it must be progressively overloaded.

I show you how I design a program. I am working on a program now that I am going to make free to the public so please subscribe and stay tuned for that in the next couple days. Just putting some finishing touches on it now.

In theory, you cannot raise the intensity of your workouts forever. The law of diminishing returns tells us that your strength gains will slow down and that your body will adapt to your programming.
It is for this reason that we must introduce more program variables than just increasing the intensity alone.
