Marine Corps Basic Training: Bayonet Assault Course

U.S. Marine Corps recruits with A Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, conduct a bayonet assault course aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. The recruits were trained on the bayonet as part of the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.

Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego — Boot Camp

Welcome to Boot Camp! The United States Marine Corps Recruit Training is a 13-week program of initial training that each recruit must successfully complete in order to serve in the United States Marine Corps.

In this video, you’ll get a brief glimpse of the Marine Corps Boot Camp experience including:

0:01 – Obstacle Course
The recruits are sent through the obstacle course several times to test their endurance and strength during recruit training.

5:55 – Rappel Tower
The recruits were trained to familiarize themselves with techniques used when exiting helicopters and descending the sides of buildings.

15:19 – Basic Water Survival Skills
The recruits were trained in water survival techniques for the amphibious nature of the Marine Corps.

25:38 – Pugil Stick Fighting
The recruits are taught pugil sticks to improve their ability to fight effectively in close quarters, with techniques from the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.

27:52 – Bayonet Assault Course
The recruits were trained on the basic bayonet techniques and the bayonet assault course as part of the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.

All enlisted individuals entering the Marine Corps, regardless of eventual active or reserve duty status, will undergo recruit training at one of the two Marine Corps Recruit Depots (MCRD): Parris Island, South Carolina, or San Diego, California. #BootCamp #MarineCorps

Transport M1 Abrams by Train: Tank Rail Ops

Marines with 1st Tank Battalion and Combat Logistics Regiment-35 work with local Korean nationals to conduct “Rail Ops”, the process of transporting M1A1 Abrams battle tanks and their support via civilian semi trucks and railways to a designated offload point during Exercise Freedom Banner 16 in South Korea. The use of transporting US armor via railroads makes an affordable and more convenient method of transporting equipment during military exercises.
